Homicides in developing nations: results of research using a large and representative sample
Article Abstract:
Most criminological research has either focused just on developed countries or included all countries in its analysis, and a study targeting developing countries shows their different historical and social contexts. Such research finds a strong positive connection between the proportion of Christians in countries and homicides. This may be because Christianity in developing countries indicates past conquest, colonization, and other violence, and this may have brought about cultural changes conducive to violence.
