How does childhood economic disadvantage lead to crime ?

Article Abstract:

A study of association between socioeconomic disadvantage in childhood and involvement in crime by examining the factors intervening like maternal care, changes of parents, parental attachment, parental history of crime, conduct problems, attention problems, school truancy, suspension from school, examination performance, scholastic ability and peer factors is done on the members of an unselected birth cohort. The study suggests that higher rate of crime reflect a life course process, increasing the susceptibility to crime due to socioeconomic disadvantage as well as adverse family, individual and school factors.

Central coherence in typically developing preschoolers: Does it cohere and does it relate to mindreading and executive control?

Article Abstract:

A study is conducted to investigate the construct central coherence (CC) in a group of typically developing preschool children, and to elucidate the relationship between CC and other cognitive skills, namely ToM and executive control. Results revealed that correlation between the emerging factors of coherence and mindreading ability are weak, even when developmental differences in age and verbal and nonverbal ability are taken into account.

Parents and partners in crime: A six-year longitudinal study on changes in supportive relationships and delinquency in adolescence and young adulthood

Article Abstract:

The answer of whether having an intimate partner associated with level of delinquency and does the quality of the relationship with an intimate partner operationalised as partner support; predict the level of delinquency is presented. Parental support has no bearing on criminality when adolescents and young adults continuously have an intimate partner.
