Ethnic identity and self-esteem: an exploratory longitudinal study
Article Abstract:
An exploratory longitudinal study on self-esteem and ethnic identity is presented. Eighteen Asian American, Black and Hispanic youth aged 16 years were assessed and a follow-up study was done three years later. The small sample size supported the the hypothesis of change over time in ethnic identity and the sequential model of ethnic identity development was supported. However, limitations due to the small sample size were expressed.
