Identity status and identity style: a replication study
Article Abstract:
Theoretical speculation on the process of identity formation has been backed by a study which sought to replicate Berzonksy's 1988 study, 'The Structure of Identity'. Berzonksy concluded that there is a close link between the identity status of an individual and how that person thinks about behaving. The new study's findings parallel Berzonksy's findings, with the achieved identity status showing positive correlations with information orientation and commitment. The study is further discussed.

Identity formation and religious orientation among high school students from the United States and Canada
Article Abstract:
Identity and religious orientation are unaffected by the moderating effects of religious orthodoxy, church attendance, sex, or grade level. Studies using Marcia's four identity statuses and Allport and Ross's four religious orientations show that identity diffusion is tied to religious orientation. Students with indiscriminate proreligious orientation score higher on foreclosure and identity achievement, while those with extrinsic orientation score higher on moratorium.

Moratorium-achievement (mama) cycles in lifespan identity development: value orientations and reasoning system correlates
Article Abstract:
Sixty university students with a mean age of 25 years were measured on instrumental and experiential orientations and formistic-dialectical reasoning. Results show that students having a formation and maintenance of structure identity status were instrumentally oriented while those having an identity status characterized by openness to change and revision were experientially-oriented. The latter were also high in dialectic thinking.
