Imaginary companions in adolescence: sign of a deficient or positive development?
Article Abstract:
Two hundred forty-one adolescents ages 12 to 17 years old were studied to determine the extent fictitious companions are manifested in the diaries of adolescents. The relative influence of coping behavior, self-concept, role-taking ability, egocentrism and creativity was also investigated using a hierarchical regression model. Results show that imaginary companions are not a consequence of an egocentric orientation. Results also reveal that socially competent and creative adolescents with good coping abilities were more prone to create such fictitious characters.

Stress and self-concept in 10- to 15-year-old school students
Article Abstract:
Previous studies have identified an inverse relationship between stress and self-perception among adolescents. Several adolescents between the ages of 10 and 15 years old were subjected to test to validate the findings of previous research. The results confirmed earlier findings and revealed that adolescent girls experienced more stress and perceive it with greater severity than adolescent boys.
