Is there a relationship between bulimia nervosa and hazardous alcohol use?
Article Abstract:
The interrelationships among bulimia nervosa, alcohol dependence and personality disorders were investigated. Thirty bulimic women participated in the study to determine whether there is an increased comorbidity between alcohol use and personality disorder but not between alcohol use and bulimia nervosa per se. Results show that there was no evidence of an association between hazardous alcohol consumption and bulimia nervosa even as bulimic patients with or without personality disorders were found to be drinking at hazardous levels.
