Levels of depression on the ST-depression adjective check lists as measured by the MMPI-D scale, the Beck Depression Inventory, and the Center for Epidemiologic Studies Depression Scale
Article Abstract:
Four degrees of depression were set up on the ST-Depression Adjective Check Lists on the basis of the Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory, the Beck Depression Inventory and the Center for Epidemiologic Studies Depression Scale. The score ranges for four degrees of depression for each of the ST-Depression Adjective Check Lists for males reveal slight changes among cut-off points for the four levels of depression. The score ranges for four levels of depression for females reveal a higher level of depression for females than for males.

Further study of the diagnostic and screening efficiency of the ST-depression adjective checklists
Article Abstract:
The sensitivity of Depression Adjective Check Lists (DACL) in the measurement of major depression is high for both males and females. The DACL is useful for diagnosing dysthymia and is effective in dual diagnoses with co-existing depression, although limited due to its limited sensitivity and specificity. However, DACL is very useful for diagnosing depression in settings where trained persons for diagnosis are not available.

Psychometric characteristics of the trait version of the Depression Adjective Check Lists (DACL) in adult psychiatric outpatients
Article Abstract:
A study of 177 patients at an adult psychiatric clinic revealed the utility of employing the E, F and G trait versions of the Depressive Adjective Check Lists (DACL) in accurately diagnosing subjects of differing psychiatric levels. The DACL scales are also of utility in precisely detecting depression levels in subjects.
