Long-term stability of the Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children-Third Edition
Article Abstract:
A sample of students were twice evaluated for special education consideration to analyze the long-term stability of the Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children-Third Edition (WISC-III). Data showed that test-retest reliability coefficients for the subtests were generally lower than for global intelligence quotient and factor index scores. Results provided the highest estimates of long-term stability of the WISC-III reported.

Temporal stability of WISC-III subtest composite: strengths and weaknesses
Article Abstract:
An evaluation of 579 students was made, who were twice tested with the Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children-Third Edition (WISC-III) to determine whether cognitive strengths and weaknesses identified via subtest analysis are stable over time. It was indicated that as subtest-based cognitive strengths and weaknesses were unreliable, recommendations based on them would also be unreliable.
