Memory and language skills in simultaneous interpreters: The role of expertise and language proficiency
Article Abstract:
The performance on basic language and working memory tasks that are hypothesized to engage cognitive skills important for simultaneous interpreting is examined. It is suggested that the performance on the language tasks is determined by proficiency more than cognitive resources, and points to memory as a critical sub skill for simultaneous interpreting.

Memory, monitoring, and control in the attainment of memory accuracy
Article Abstract:
The ability to regulate memory accuracy in free report was examined in younger and older adults. It is suggested that the impairment in the ability to recollect details of events is the cause of the older adults' problems with memory monitoring and memory accuracy.
