Monolingual and bilingual children's use of mutual exclusivity in the naming of whole objects
Article Abstract:
The use of mutual exclusivity in the naming of whole objects was examined in monolingual and bilingual 3- and 6-year-olds. It is shown that the use of mutual exclusivity in the naming of whole objects was found across monolingual and bilingual children, although older bilingual children were significantly less inclined to use mutual exclusivity than were older monolingual children.

What's in a name? Typicality and relatedness effects in children
Article Abstract:
The study of how category typicality and out-of-category relatedness affect speeded category verification in typically developing 4 to 14 year olds and adults is presented. It is described that typicality and relatedness effects reflected organizational principles of the semantic system, not picture-relatedness processes.
