New species of woolly lemur Avahi (primates: lemuriformes) in Bemaraha (central western Madagascar)
Article Abstract:
Three distinct taxa of woolly lemurs (genus Avahi) in western Madagascar: Avahi occidentalis and Avahi unicolor, and the third Avahi population were discovered in central western Madagascar. The description of this third Avahi is based on a released type individual from which hair samples, photographs, tape and video recordings were obtained, and the entire range is believed to be less than 5,000 Km(super 2), and forest loss, along with an observed continuing decline in numbers, indicates that this species should be considered Endangered.

Feeding behavior of lactating brown lemur females (Eulemur sulvus) in Mayotte: Influence of infant age and plant phenology
Article Abstract:
Dunbar's model is tested with data recorded from births of the Mayotte brown lemur from four maternal dyads (Eulemur fulvus) and the correlation between female activity budget, quantities of fresh plant matter ingested and suckling duration is examined. The models have concluded that maternal feeding behavior depends on the energetic cost of lactation and hence female brown lemurs increase their food intake to fulfill their energy requirements during the lactation period.

Ecological correlates of abundance in the Tana Mangabey (Cercocebus galeritus)
Article Abstract:
The investigation of ecological correlates of abundance in the Tana mangabey (Cerocebus galeritus) with the main aim of recommending management strategies is done. Vegetation structure, food abundance and human forest products were measured to determine the dependence between the selected forest attributes and the mean number of people of the mangabey groups per fragment.
