On Samuel Cameron's 'The economics of preference change: the case of arts therapy.'(Response)
Article Abstract:
The claims by Samuel Cameron, which justifies arts therapy in an economic sense by the neoclassical concept of utility maximization is misleading, especially in the light of the concept which suggests a maximization of utility by rational individuals. The value of arts therapy should be seen in terms of the choice-value concept that brings more rationality to the concept since the basis of choice is for the individual to choose which option is best for him.

The economics of preference change: the case of arts therapy
Article Abstract:
A treatise justifies arts therapy in an economic sense. The economic justification is based on what economists contend as the 'behavioral change accompanying the acquisition of a service' , the behavioral change being the end result of the transaction process. This concept is essential since it becomes the basis for the intervention in the sale of some products perceived to be not in the best interest of consumers.
