On durable goods monopolies: an experimental study of intrapersonal price competition and price discrimination over time
Article Abstract:
The responses of customers in durable monopoly markets were studied through classroom experiments involving business and economics graduate students with no knowledge of durable monopoly markets and game theory. Durable monopolies are defined as markets wherein a single seller can fulfill a particular demand through a number of sales offers in different sales periods and different combinations of discount factors. Durable monopoly games are defined by game theory as either intrapersonal price competition or price discrimination.

Cooperation based on trust: an experimental investigation
Article Abstract:
The results of a study of trust-based cooperation suggest that, in the context of a simple 'game of trust,' trust is rarely rewarded. When players' positions were auctioned, which raised the possibility that a participant could lose money, few players chose mutual cooperation. When sequential play was employed, the moral obstacles to noncooperation became more serious, but most second players still chose not to reward a show of trust by first players.

One person - many players? On Bjorn Frank's 'The use of internal games: the case of addiction.' (response to article by Bjorn Frank in this issue, p. 651)
Article Abstract:
A study on the factors affecting addictive behavior is evaluated. It is argued the the study treats the decision maker as an object by failing to consider all the internal processes of decision making. The reference to human motivational factors as internal games is also criticized since factors such as the strategic role of emotions cannot be represented using standard utility functions.
