Ongoing physical activity advice by humans versus computers: the Community Health Advice by Telephone (CHAT) trial
Article Abstract:
The effectiveness of health educators and an automated computer system in delivering physical inactivity interventions by phone was investigated. The medical personnel and the computer system were found efficient in physical actvity advice delivery, as participants in both trials demonstrated improvements. Delivering advice on physical activity through phone as an alternative system is further evaluated.

The roles of telephone and print media in fueling the physical activity of sedentary adults to prevent cardiovascular diseases, based on social cognitive theory, are presented.
