Plea bargaining: injustice for all?
Article Abstract:
Plea bargaining is an approximation of justice and will continue to be used by the court system because there are legitimate reasons to accept it. Legitimate reasons include an overburdened court system and knowledge that important evidence may be suppressed in a court trial. Changing the jury selection process so that judges can pick juries in some cases may expedite the system.
