Shared attentional resources for processing visual and chemosensory information
Article Abstract:
The authors expand upon previous research that suggests that the processing of visual, auditory, and tactile stimuli uses shared attentional resources by studying whether or not common attentional resources are implicated in the the processing of chemosensory information as well. Findings suggest that subjects can selectively devote attentional resources to certain senses, and that this allows the preferential processing of information using those senses.

On the strategic modulation of the time couse of facilitation and inhibition of return
Article Abstract:
Research presented concerns whether the 'inhibition of return' effect can be measured in target discrimination as well as detection tasks. Topics addressed include fast and efficient scanning processes used by humans to perceive visual environments, and the adaptive interaction between endogenous and exogenous attention systems.

Cued shifts of attention and memory encoding in partial report: a dual-task approach
Article Abstract:
Research examines the relationship between capacity limits and cued shifts of visual attention and the processing of visual information into short-term memory. A dual-task approach is used to the shifting of attention and the processing mechanisms of short-term memory.
