Proprioception and stimulus-response compatibility
Article Abstract:
Experimental studies have been conducted of the relative position effect in stimulus-response compatibility, focusing on the role of proprioceptive inputs and discriminability of effector locations. Topics discussed include alternative sources of information about relative position, discriminability of the relative positions of stimuli and effectors, effective of varying finger separation, automatic activation, rule-based activation, and a combination of the two forms of activation.

Hierarchical knowledge influences stimulus-response compatibility effects
Article Abstract:
Stimulus-response compatibility effects have been examined in relation to spatial stimulus grouping in a series of experiments. Performance was mainly affected by the spatial relationship between the superordinate unit and response. Results are interpreted in terms of hierarchical accounts of stimulus information coding.

Interactions between exogenous auditory and visual spatial attention
Article Abstract:
Evidence was found for cross-modal orienting in a series of experiments on exogenous visual and auditory spatial attention. No inhibition of return occurred in cross-modal conditions, suggesting the presence of interacting modality-specific channels for exogenous attention shifts.
