Relations between alcohol, violence and victimization in adolescence
Article Abstract:
A study seeks to determine whether there is a significant relationship between vulnerability to physical violence and alcohol consumption in adolescence independent of a relationship between alcohol consumption and violent behavior. Results show that reducing intoxication might reduce victimization without necessarily affecting violent behavior, indicating that violence reduction must focus as much on preventing alcohol misuse among victims or potential victims as among offenders.
