Psychometric equivalence of the computer and booklet forms of the MMPI: A meta-analysis
Article Abstract:
Researchers have sought to assess whether the booklet form of the Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory (MMPI) is equivalent in psychometric terms to the computer form. The researchers have come up with different results, and a number of explanations have been put forward for these differences. A meta-analysis of the work of these researchers shows that these differences can be explained by sampling error and not by systematic differences between the two forms of the MMPI.

Utility of selected MMMPI-2 scales in the outcome prediction for patients with chronic back pain
Article Abstract:
Selected scales from the Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory-2 (MMPI-2) have been assessed for their predictive utility using a sample of 120 back pain patients. The scales included assessments of depression, anxiety and depression, and were used in relation to treatment outcome for the patients. The results at a follow-up examination 6 months later showed a number of the scales able to forecast less improvement, according to which outcome measure was employed.

Ethnicity and psychopathology: a meta-analytic review of 31 years of comparative MMPI/MMPI-2 research
Article Abstract:
A review of the Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory (MMPI) and MMPI-2 research that has compared ethnic groups since 1967 indicates that MMPI/MMPI-2 differences among European Americans, African Americans and Latino Americans are insignificant. The MMPI and MMPI-2 do not seem to portray African Americans and Latino Americans as pathological. Sociodemographic influences had very little impact on the findings.
