Psychometric evaluation of the Beck Anxiety Inventory with older medical patients
Article Abstract:
An evaluation of of the Beck Anxiety Inventory (BAI) as a screening test for anxiety in geriatric population is presented. A four-factor model in 71 female and 126 male low-income older medical outpatients ranging in age from 55 to 92 years were investigated by using confirmatory factor analysis. Results indicate that the BAI has high internal consistency and adequate discriminant validity in a sample of disadvantaged elderly medical outpatients.

A psychometric evaluation of the Beck Depression Inventory-II
Article Abstract:
A psychometric analysis of the characteristics of Beck Depression Inventory (BDI)-II was conducted using confirmatory and exploratory factor analyses. The differences and similarities between BDI and BDI-II were studied and the resulting factor structures were cross-validated. Based on the analysis of the factor structures, results indicate that BDI-II is a stronger tool than BDI.
