Evaluating the screening version of the Hare Psychopathy Checklist - Revised, PCL:SV: an item response theory analysis
Article Abstract:
There are 20 itens in the Hare Psychopathy Checklist, which is used to measure psychopathic traits in forensic settings. Interpersonal and affective features of psychopathy include callousness and selfishness, while social deviance factors include anti-social lifestyle. The screening version of this checklist has been developed to be used outside a forensic environment and to complement the Psychopathy Checklist. The screening version can be administered more rapidly and needs less collateral data. The results show that only the more severely affected individuals show the affective and interpersonal features of the condition.
