Co-occurring eating and depressive problems: an 8-year study of adolescent girls
Article Abstract:
A study is conducted to investigate eating and depressive difficulties in girls, observed at three stages between young adolescence and young motherhood. While rates of eating problems remain consistent, rates of depressive problems are seen to decline between middle and late adolescence.

How similar are correlates of different subclinical eating problems and bulimia nervosa?
Article Abstract:
Individuals in the True Negative group of women with eating disorders were often depressed or otherwise psychologically impaired during adolescence and young adulthood. True Negatives were identified as having low EAT-26 scores and no bulimia nervosa.

The roles of respect for parental authority and parenting practices in parent-child conflict among African American, Latino, and European American families
Article Abstract:
A study to examine whether parent-child conflict differs among families having different cultural traditions regarding issues of respect for parental authority and parenting practices is conducted. Results show that African American and Latino girls show more respect for parental authority lowering frequency of conflict, which concludes that respect for authority is most important to group difference in conflict.
