Radioimmunoassay of estrone conjugates from urine dried on filter paper
Article Abstract:
New laboratory method for eluting steroid from filter paper with methanol, along with a series of experiments, is used to develop and validate this method. The data collected demonstrate the effectiveness of filter paper as a medium for preserving urinary steroid samples, and the efficiency of methanol as a solvent for eluting estrone conjugate and creatinine, thus this method provides viable alternative to the traditional procedure of freezing urine for field studies, where freezers are not available.

Contribution of ovarian steroid production to urinary estrone conjugate concentrations in Macaca mulatta
Article Abstract:
A hypothesis that basal estrone conjugate (E1C) profiles do not accurately detect ovarian function when ovarian estrogen productions low or absent is tested. The results suggested that the use of estrone conjugate (E1 C) measurements is a suitable method for monitoringin intact, cycling animals and unitary estradiol cypionate injection (E2) measurements to verify loss of follicular activity.

Increased iron absorption in lemurs: quantitative screening and assessment of dietary prevention
Article Abstract:
A preclinical screening procedure and the quantified preventive effects of dietary intervention upon iron absorption in lemurs are described. The transferrin saturation (% TS) tests conducted on 23 individual lemurs of four species shown iron absorption averages in the human hyperabsorption range, when given conventional zoodiets.
