Refining the association between attributions and behavior in marital interaction
Article Abstract:
The relationship between attributions and behavior in marital interaction cannot be fully established. In addition, various interpretations may be inferred from the association. A total of 120 recently married individuals were asked to complete marital satisfaction and attributions measures and perform a couple of interaction activities. The wives displayed a tendency to exhibit behavior that does not facilitate resolution to problems. Results show that relationships between attributions and behavior were stronger among women and relatively distressed partners.

Predicting marital distress and dissolution: Refining the two- factor hypothesisfrr
Article Abstract:
An attempt is made to determine whether, after 18 months, marriages with relatively hostile spouses would be more distressed than those with spouses who are less hostile and hostility would afford a stronger prediction of satisfaction than observed communication behaviors over the same interval. Communication training may be more suited for the prevention of marital dissatisfaction, and addressing traitlike negativity and propensity for hostile and aggressive responses may prove more effective in preventineg marital dissolution.

Prevention of marital distress: results of a German prospective longitudinal study
Article Abstract:
Results of a prospective longitudinal study indicated the feasibility of using the Ein Partnerschaftliches Lernprogramm (EPL) in marital distress prevention programs for German couples. The EPL was analyzed in a prospective, quasi-experimental, controlled experiment. Experimental findings also showed variations associated with couples' dissolution rates, satisfaction with their relationship and communication behavior.
