Schizophrenia and violent crime: the experience of parents
Article Abstract:
Studies show the importance of psychiatric health care professionals in taking the responsibility and initiative for educating, informing, and supporting family members of mentally ill patients who have committed violent crimes. Discussion includes the four status passages affecting family members with regard to illness onset, diagnosis, crime, and psychiatric referral.
