Serotonin function is associated with behavioral response to a novel conspecific in marmosets
Article Abstract:
The relationship between the central nervous system neurotransmitter serotonin (5-HT) and behavioral responses and social inhibition to a novel conspecific social scenario in marmosets is investigated. Results establish that monoamine serotonergic influences play a role in behavioral response in marmosets, since naturally low and pharmacologically altered peripheral 5-HT leads to decreased behavioral inhibition.

Treatment with CRH-1 antagonist antalarmin reduces behavioral and endocrine responses to social stressors in marmosets (Callithrix Kuhlii)
Article Abstract:
The role played by corticotrophin-releasing hormone (CRH) in mediating responses to social stressors in marmosets is evaluated. The antagonism of the CRH-a receptor acts to reduce the magnitude of both endocrine and behavioral responses to a moderate social stressor without any overall reduction in alertness or general activity.

Influence of the mother's reproductive state on the hormonal status of daughters in marmosets (Callithrix kuhlii)
Article Abstract:
Behavioral and endocrine suppression of reproduction in subordinate female produces the high reproductive skew that characterizes callitrichid primate mating systems. The data suggest that marmoset daughters of potential breeding age are not hormonally suppressed during the mother's peripartum period or her return to fertility.
