Simple and complex memory spans and their relation to fluid abilities: Evidence from list-length effects
Article Abstract:
The relation between verbal complex and simple verbal span tasks to fluid abilities as a function of list-length is examined. The results suggests that the simple span fluid abilities correlation changes as a function of list-length but that the complex span-fluid abilities correlation remains constant across list-lengths from lists as short as two items.

Working memory capacity and resistance to interference
Article Abstract:
The working memory capacity of 120 high-school students from Potsdam, Germany, was investigated by the allocation of single-task and dual-task versions of verbal and spatial memory tasks. The ability to resist interference has a low correlation to the working memory capacity.

A temporal-contextual retrieval account of complex span: An analysis of errors
Article Abstract:
The patterns of errors made on two common complex span tasks are examined. The results suggest that the patterns of errors made on these tasks are an important indicator of the process that underlie performance and point to the importance of temporal-contextual cues.
