Social patterns of food sharing in monogamous owl monkeys
Article Abstract:
Patterns of food sharing were examined among seven mated pairs and four families of captive owl monkeys, with respect to age, sex, class, and the presence or absence of dependent offspring. It was observed that adult males and females transferred food to their mates in caged pairs as well as in family units, and this pattern of food sharing between mates in a monogamous species might serve both nutritional and social functions that differed from those in polygamous species.

The capuchin, the howler, and the caatinga: Seed dispersal by monkeys in a threatened Brazilian forest
Article Abstract:
The potential seed-dispersal role of capuchin and howler monkeys in Serra de Capivara National Park is preliminarily evaluated. It is found that monkeys dispersed at least 26 species and the pattern observed showed that Alouatta dispersed larger seeds than Cebus, and the two species apparently dispersed seeds in different local habitats.
