Social support, relationship quality, and well-being among pregnant adolescents
Article Abstract:
Research into the connections between social support, relationship quality and psychological health among pregnant adolescents has focused on a number of issues not addressed in previous research. These include the bidirectional exchange of support between pregnant adolescents and their parents and peers. It was established that bidirectional supporters have higher levels of mastery and life satisfaction and lower levels of depression and worry than providers, receivers and low supporters. There are close links between the reciprocal exchange of support with parents and a number of well-being measures.

Why may teenage girls persist in smoking?
Article Abstract:
Teenage girls tend to smoke because they are worried about their body shape or gaining weight and this is especially true of smokers who are already overweight. Once the girls think that smoking helps them keep their weight down, it becomes harder to break the habit. Many girls aim for an unrealistically low weight and as well as diets, they resort to vomiting and smoking to try to reach their targets. Other girls say they smoke because they feel more relaxed or are bored but almost 50% of them still report being worried about weight.
