The consequences of differentiation in episodic memory: Similarity and the strength based mirror effect
Article Abstract:
The strength based mirror effect is highlighted where different levels of performance are obtained by manipulating encoding time, where the main focus is on an empirical test of differentiation models by considering the effect of testing a foil that is similar to a single studied item. Differentiation is simply the accumulation of information in a single memory trace with additional repetitions, resulting in a reduction in the match between a strong target and an unrelated foil compared to a weak target and an unrelated foil.

Differentiating the differentiation models: A comparison of the retrieving effectively from memory model (REM) and the subjective likelihood model (SLiM)
Article Abstract:
A brief tutorial is presented on the Subjective Likelihood Model (SLiM) and the Retrieving Effectively from Memory model (REM), which are concerned with the task of episodic recognition memory and simulations are conducted, showing cases where they diverge. The differences between the two models indicate that the shared core assumptions of the two models are not enough to ensure that they make identical predictions.

On the relationship between repetition priming and recognition memory: Insights from a computational model
Article Abstract:
A single-system model of repetition priming and recognition memory that is conceptually similar to signal-detection theory is discussed. The model shows that effects of attention will be observed on priming and recognition although larger for recognition.
