The effects of video feedback in the context of Milan Systemic Therapy
Article Abstract:
Investigation of the effectiveness of video feedback to verbal feedback, in conjunction with Milan Systemic Therapy shows that the addition of video feedback enhances family adaptability by visually reframing the problem. Family members receiving therapy plus video-feedback treatment perceive other family members as more responsible and serious while dealing with the problem at posttreatment than at pretreatment. Thus, video feedback on family interaction task is effective in influencing the perceptions of families during the course of family therapy sessions.

The use of observational coding in family therapy research: comment on Alexander et al. (1995)
Article Abstract:
A study proposed a two-dimensional scheme for classifying observational coding on the basis of content meaning and code type. However, the systematic task-analytic approach for observational coding involves understanding of both the nature and process of change. It includes modeling of context-specific, and in-situation process since any variations in the process yields crucial information about change in psychotherapy. The focus is on the process occurring at a particular moment in a particular environment than just the nature of change mechanisms.

Development of brief scales to monitor clients' construction of change
Article Abstract:
The Perceived Progress scale and the Outcome Optimism and Self-Agency scales measures of clients' progress in therapy. The basis of the scales specify the constructs theorized as mediating change in therapy. Two studies validate the construct, factorial and criterion. Outcome optimism, percieved progress and self-agency measure a clients' change. Though these studies have limitations, the scales may prove useful in investigating critical issues in therapy process and outcome.
