The input bias: the misuse of input information in judgments of outcomes
Article Abstract:
The influence of irrelevant input information on judgments of outcome quality is explored. In the studies people evaluated the outcome was more favorably when the inputs used to attain those outcomes were larger-even when they recognized that input information should not matter.
