A bad case of mixed metaphors: psychiatry, law, politics, society, and Ezra Pound
Article Abstract:
A critique is presented on an article written in 1949 exploring the political and artistic implications of awarding the Bollingen Prize in Poetry to Ezra Pound. The article is used to support stronger methodologies that adequately express the psychiatric nature of artists, rather than comparing them to contrived categories defining what is normal and what is not.
