The role of father involvement in children's later mental health
Article Abstract:
Father participation in child rearing at age 7 tended to protect children from maladjustment in teenagers following divorce, and involvement at age prevented adult psychological distress in women. The same research showed results from father involvement were not affected by the level of mother involvement.

A hierarchical multiple regression analysis, which utilized data on British secondary school children, is presented to examine the role of parenting practices in children's emotional and behavioral problems.
