Research investigating predictions of dietary restraint caused in women by exaggerated commitment to exercise and tendencies toward perfectionism is presented. Particular attention is given to interactive, independent and indirect predictions.

Perfectionism in anorexia nervosa: a 6-24 month follow-up study

This article examines the relationship between perfectionism and anorexia treatment outcome. The authors maintain perfectionism is associated with the illness and may be a personality trait that persists with the remission of the disease.
