Use of the mutual exclusivity assumption by young word learners
Article Abstract:
Three studies addressed the concerns of several investigators who have postulated that children rely on some constraints on word meanings to shape their initial hypotheses about the meaning of novel words. The findings indicate that lexical constraints enable babies to learn words even under non-optimal conditions when speakers are not clear and referents are not visible.

Exaggerated redundancy gain in the split brain: a hemispheric coactivation account
Article Abstract:
Recent studies of redundancy gain indicate that it is especially large when redundant stimuli are present to different hemispheres of n individual without a functioning corpus callosum. This suggests that hypothesis that response to redundant stimuli is speeded partly because both hemispheres are involved in the activation of the response.
