Varieties of religion-family linkages
Article Abstract:
Family and religious life clearly interact to advance the most profound commitments and the highest ideals. Current religious studies need to increasingly focus on religious and racial diversity in samples, and to develop a unifying theory for linkages between family and religion.

Introduction to the special section on families and religion: a call for a recommitment by researchers, practitioners, and policymakers
Article Abstract:
Research in family psychology has generally neglected religion. Parents as transmitters of religious values, differences of belief, and the relationship between religious institutions and family are some of the areas that could benefit from scholarly inquiry.

Religion in the home in the 1980s and 1990s: a meta-analytic review and conceptual analysis of links between religion, marriage, and parenting
Article Abstract:
Research suggests greater family involvement in religion decreases the rate of divorce and improve marital functioning, if only in small ways. Parental religiousness often leads to better child adjustment and more positive parenting.
