Overconfidence: it depends on how, what and whom you ask
Article Abstract:
The level of confidence rendered in making judgements significantly affects the degree of accuracy of such tasks. Contrary to previous studies, it has been shown that increased level of confidence tends to create a corresponding decrease in the accuracy of decision-making. Such implies that overconfidence is likely to result in biased judgements. This effect, however, was shown to be relative across various types of judgements.
