Women's sexual strategies: The evolution of long-term bonds and extrapair sex
Article Abstract:
Evidence pertaining to two overlapping suites of psychological adaptations in women namely those for securing long-term, cooperative social partnerships for rearing children and those for pursuing a dual-mating strategy is studied. The findings indicate that females prefer long-term partners willing to invest time and resources for their offspring but there is an antagonistic approach also where some women seek dual mating for the sake of good genes for the offspring.
