In Japan, books are windows to the world

Osaka, in Japan, is Japan's second city but its biggest bookstore dwarfs anything in Chicago or in New York or Cambridge. The ground floor of the store is filled mangas, the Japanese comics that have incredible claim on the reading public and the second floor is filled with endless shelves of popular culture, books on films, theatre, pop star of every kind and Japanese fiction.

The process of waiting for a book to be translated into another language can be frustrating slow, but it is a difficult process. The translator must find a universal meaning that can be comprehended in the new language. This understanding of the meaning of the words comes close to a true international language.
