Mieczyslow Gorowski: handmade definace
Article Abstract:
Poster artist Mieczyslaw Gorowski works at the Krakow Academy of Fine Arts, but decorates his studio with worn utensils and countryside artifacts. His posters are internationally recognized: they contain startling designs on intellectual and urban concerns. He uses only five colors of paint. He is interested in going back to his roots; thus, human-made objects from the farm and Polish folk music. He does no commercial work.

Stasys Eidrigevicius is a renaissance man in the art world, growing up in a small village in Lithuania and drawing on the memory of his childhood for his art. From poster art to engraved bookplates, Eidrigevicius has stamped his own identity on his visual arts. After graduating the Academy of Art in 1974, Eidrigevicius was drafted into the Soviet army, and in the 1980s, he developed his poster art.
