Mullen Advertising Inc. has grown from a "boutique" New England advertising agency in 1969 to a thriving corporate-owned firm in 1999. Founded by James X. Mullen, the firm has seen double- or triple-digit operational growth in all but two of its 30 years. Mullen helped Timberland Co. grow to $637.5 million in 1997 from $53.8 million in 1986. Mullen has also helped to change the image of the Disney Channel.
