Photography's antiquarian avant-garde: reviving long-obsolete processes
Article Abstract:
Several photographers around the world are rediscovering older photographic techniques. Daguerreotype, calotype, ambrotype, tintype and cyanotype are some of the rediscovered methods utilized by American John Yang, English artist Susan Derges and Hungarian Gabor Kerekes. These old processes allow artists to see the present in a new way.

Mark Power: "the power of an idea"
Article Abstract:
Mark Power, is photographing for 20 years has done advertising, editorial and fine art work and he is at home with formats from 35mm to 6x6" rangefinder to the 8x10" view camera. He absorbs influences from so many sources that he often seems to disappear into them.

Steichen's legacy
Article Abstract:
The influence of photographer Edward Steichen, who died in 1973, is considered. He made photography public property, trying to make it useful for democracy. He found that it is only possible to serve art, not exploit it.
