QMS PS 810: QMS, Inc
Article Abstract:
The $5,495 QMS PS 810 PostScript printer, from QMS Inc, is a sophisticated printer that provides higher-than-average speed. Print quality is good, emulation is versatile, and the price is reasonable. This 68000-based product incorporates the same Canon SX laser engine used in Laserwriter IIs, so the pages that the PS 810 produces look just like those done on Apple machines. There is a parallel port. The switch for changing emulations is not conveniently located.

720IQ: Printware
Article Abstract:
The $16,280 720IQ PostScript compatible printer, from Printware, is notable for high resolution - 1,200 by 600 dots per inch. There are, however, deficiencies: for example, the PostScript interpreter from Printware that is used with the 720IQ could not handle Bitstream downloadable fonts used in a Pagemaker test; the 720 does not work with a Macintosh; and the product is described as 'agonizingly slow'.
