Redemption of the hapless Yugo
Article Abstract:
The Yugo Next exhibition organized by School of Visual Arts professor Kevin O'Callaghan was featured in New York, NY and Washington, D.C.'s Grand Central and Union Stations in 1995 and will be displayed in Los Angeles in the spring of 1996. The exhibition features Yugo automobiles which have been transformed by O'Callaghan's students into useful art objects. These include Yugos that have been respectively transformed into a toaster, accordion, phone, subway car, kiddie ride, diner, smoking barbecue, slot machine, Zippo lighter, toilet, confessional and baby grand piano

In 1989, Bill Gates of Microsoft Corp founded Continuum Electro-Optics Inc, a company that digitizes fine art. Continuum has been negotiating non- exclusive digital rights to major art collections around the world, including the National Gallery of London, England, and the State Russian Museum. Continuum has also gained the rights to digitize image archives, such as the Hulton Deutsche Collection based in London.

Report from Spain: a museum for the 21st Century - Frank Gehry's Bilbao Guggenheim
Article Abstract:
The Guggenheim Museum Bilbao in Bilbao, Spain, on the banks of the Nervion River is considered a 21st century museum. The building was designed by Frank Gehry through a business agreement between Thomas Krens and the governments of Spain and the Basques. There are three floors in the museum which resembles a huge metallic flower.
