Rick Joy's Tubac house: Desert treasure

Rick Joy, former professional drummer and carpenter turned architect has orchestrated multiple environmentally sensitive materials that resulted in a beautiful modernist home in Tubac, in the Arizona desert. Breaking from the style of his early homes that were built using rammed earth, he experiments with contemporary materials, steel, and glass, which resonate with the extreme desert climate and bold desert colors.
