Carving new dreams
Article Abstract:
Designer Takenobu Igarashi developed a stripped-down point of view for the shape of household items and sold the designs to manufacturers. After 25 years as a designer, he began carving stones up to 50 lbs in weight. While his designs represented hard edges, his stone carvings take a more organic form in representing natural objects. He aims to communicate happy feelings in his sculptures, while earlier designs communicated with people through great concepts.

Rocco Piscatello: "a study in simplicity and contrasts"
Article Abstract:
Rocco Piscatello's designs are spare, disciplined ascetic and his completed projects are timeless that draw upon classical themes and methods of design such as symmetry, contrast, tension and harmony. He believes designers have a responsibility to become involved with every aspect of a project's development so that the message and the form it takes are inextricably bound.
