Getting to grips with growth
Article Abstract:
The counties of Bedfordshire and Buckinghamshire have been badly affected by the recession over recent years. There are now signs of economic recovery, but some entrenched problems still remain. Bedfordshire lacks the strong industrial structure required to make it competitive with other areas of the UK and the European Union. The situation is considerably better in Buckinghamshire, where the economy is dominated by the service sector.
