Who needs big buildings anymore?
Article Abstract:
The office property market is undergoing significant changes due to changes in the workplace. Firms' property strategies are now being driven by the need to cut costs and the wish to use property to help change business culture and working practices. Most large companies now have different property needs because they have cut employee numbers in recent years, partly due to greater use of IT. New working practices include the growth in telephone call centres and the increased use of hoteling initiatives.
