Atlantic Canada: North America's global commerce connection
Article Abstract:
The region of Atlantic Canada has changed the basis of its economy from a resource-based economy to a more technology-based one. The change resulted from growing unemployment in the region when federal funding for the resource industry dwindled. Atlantic Canada is an attractive corporate relocation and investment area for petroleum, transport, telecommunications, high-technology and manufacturing due to the region's heterogenous mix of skilled manpower. Construction is also expected to be a good investment opportunity in the region due to the high growth potential of the region.
